Gergenti, Il Vero 2021

The name for Gergenti was taken from the old Sicilian name for the town of Agrigento, where Gergenti's winery is still located today. Producing approachable, authentically Sicilian wines, Gergenti use some of the best organically farmed grapes on the island in their wines. Il Vero 2021 is a blend of the red grapes Sicily does best: Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese and Frappato. Purposefully leaving the grapes on their vines post-maturation so they achieve the right concentration of flavour, a technique known as "appassimento", it is a soft, intense and fruity red with juicy-rich notes of red fruits, chocolate and prune.
